What does your job entail?
I manage communications both within ICH and within the Best Western membership, which means it’s my job to get the word out about things that people need to know in the company, and in the hotels that are in the Best Western brands. This encompasses regular communications we send out like newsletters, the company magazine and ad-hoc campaigns based around email marketing.
I work with other departments to help them design campaigns that will spread the word about what they’re doing, change behaviours, and get Members involved in initiatives that help them succeed in hospitality.
How long have you worked for us?
I have been at Best Western for just under a year.
Any other roles you have held in the business?
I haven’t held any other roles, but my role has shifted from the Marketing team to the newly created Member Services team. I think it’s been a great switch, and it puts me in better contact with other people int he business who I can work with the make my role more effective.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
I get a lot of job satisfaction out of creating an effective campaign that steers Members towards a new product or scheme that is going to help them do business more effectively. I think it’s important to believe in what you do, and helping independent businesses survive and thrive in a tough industry feels very rewarding.
What do you most enjoy about working for BW/Beacon?
There are many years of expertise in the hospitality business in these walls, and some really experienced hospitality professionals who work in a tight-knit industry – so working with them to help put their skills to use for the good of the Members is great fun.
