Group Sales Manager

We are looking for a Northern based dynamic Group Sales Manager MICE to join our field sales team.The Group Sales Manager will be responsible for the effective management and growth of commercial relationships with existing customers, and the attraction of new customers through a mixture of Travel Management Companies and conference Planning Agencies.

Main responsibilities

Business Development

•To acquire new clients by networking, prospecting, etc.

•Ensure customer satisfaction at all times

•Achieve targets for sales growth, revenue, etc.

•Develop strategies, tactics, profit targets, sales plans, etc.

•Develop and maintain relationships with partners

•Plan new programs to increase business and profits

•Work with the Marketing Manager for sales initiatives on different mediums including internet, print and electronic media

•Maintain the existing client base

•Develop and maintain good relations with the VIP and key clients of the company

•Follow up on the progress made in achieving the goals and come up with solutions to any problems

•Keep an accurate record of the pricings and sales

Building Relationships

•To develop effective communications and actively promote productive working relationships with member hotels

•Represent the business at conferences, industry and networking trade events

•Promote the company via telephone and at face to face events

•Arrange and conduct sales visits to central office, York


•Update the CRM system daily with account activity

•Update in-house and RFP listings

•Update Business Account figures on a daily basis

•Monitor and update sales leads


•Business Account programme

•Sign up of Business Accounts

•Work with Senior Group Sales Manager / Head of Sales to implement new revenue tools to manage the business

•Ensure hotels have relevant information on clients to make informed decisions around setting rates for RFP’s

•Complete on-boarding process for prospective new members

•Register/refer agents with the industry’s governing regulators

•General administration duties relevant to the role including, sending emails and liaising with the internal team

The Person

The Group Sales Manager will already have an established sales career within the hospitality industry and be committed to customer service excellence, providing a high level of service delivery to both internal and external customers. They will have a proven track record of effective account management, particularly the development and growth of existing customer accounts . Experience of managing major / key customers is essential.They will also have experience of successfully achieving business growth targets.

Qualifications / Knowledge

·Good standard of education achieved, with strong literacy and numeracy skills

•Good working understanding of MS Office: Word, Excel, Power Point and MS Outlook
