Customer Support Executive – York

Are you a passionate problem-solver that wants to make a tangible difference to a customer’s bottom line? Do you have an excellent grounding in customer service but would relish the challenge of working in a more sales-driven, commercially focused environment? Then we’d love to hear from you.

Who are we?

Beacon is a Procurement Services Provider and sister company to Best Western GB. We have customers of all sizes, from family-owned guest houses to multi-site care home groups and we’re proud of our comprehensive portfolio of carefully vetted suppliers that are leaders in their sectors. Delivering positive business outcomes is what we do best, and we do this by leveraging value through our category expertise, supply chain management skills and extensive market knowledge.

We’re a friendly bunch – far more human than corporate – and we’re always happy to answer any questions or provide ad-hoc advice to resolve our customers’ pressing issues of the day. That’s why you’ll need to be a real people person. Someone who can develop strong working relationships quickly and do it with warmth and diplomacy, even when handling a tricky conversation. Why? Because at the end of every telephone conversation, you want that customer to leave with a positive impression of both you and the business.

The role

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be speaking and writing to our customers, helping them navigate the road back to recovery following the pandemic. Requests could involve investigating a missed delivery slot or sourcing a supplier for a niche product or service. Whatever the customer wants help with – you’ll be the first point of contact. However, don’t worry, because as well as first-rate training, you’ll have a whole team of experts on hand to help, from Central Billing Advisors to Procurement Category Managers; we’re one supportive team who work together to find solutions for all our customers’ problems.

Change is a way of life at Beacon, so you’ll need to have a can-do attitude and the ability to adapt to evolving circumstances quickly. It’s also a given that you’ll have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the confidence to upsell within a trusted, advisory capacity.

What we offer in return

Along with a competitive salary, we provide:

  • a generous holiday allowance
  • free car parking
  • pension
  • opportunity for hybrid working
  • discounted hotel stays
  • Health and dental plan

After all, we know that to be a great place to work, we need great people to work with us, which is why we’re always open to hearing from talented, motivated, self-starters that know how to put customers at the heart of everything they do. So, if this sounds like you, please send your CV to recruitment@bwhhotelgroup.co.uk and a summary of what you can bring to the business, along with your current salary and salary expectation and we’ll be back in touch soon.
